Simon Caplan, a partner with CRESCO Real Estate, has been in the construction and real estate industry for over thirty (30) years. Simon began his career with CRESCO Real Estate as Vice President in 1998 eventually transitioning into a principle role in 2001.

Simon’s personal experience representing both tenant and landlord, and buyer and seller on real estate transactions has provided him with the acute awareness of completely understanding his clients’ needs. Simon averages over 30 transactions annually, including both sales and leases ranging from 1,500 to 300,000 square feet, and land sales from 1 to 60 acres. Simon has achieved multiple land sales at Northeast Ohio’s highest price for industrial land. Simon’s assistance on due diligence matters has more than proven his worth to his list of many repeat clients.

Prior Experience

Upon graduation from Linsly Military Institute, Simon entered the construction business, starting as a laborer and working his way up to supervising projects such as apartment buildings, shopping centers and single-family homes. From 1983 to 1992, Simon was President of the Big 4 Lumber Company, where he also became involved in real estate development and ownership. Simon’s business, construction and property ownership background provides him with the overall understanding and ability to comprehend most companies’ requirements making him the perfect real estate consultant.

Simon entered the real estate brokerage business in 1993 as a sales associate with CB Commercial Real Estate Group, a large international real estate firm based in Los Angeles, specializing in sale, lease and build-to-suit industrial properties. During Simon’s tenure in the CB Commercial Cleveland office, he was one of the top three overall producers in 1995.
