Thomas M. West

Thomas West, senior vice president and director of office services with CRESCO Real Estate since 2004, has been in the real estate industry for over twenty-three (23) years including eighteen (18) years with another national real estate firm. Tom presents his clients with the outstanding pursuit of solutions to problems, and a willingness to work tirelessly. Academic achievements, vast technical and business experience as well as strong analytical skills are evidenced in Tom’s accomplishments.

Additionally, Tom holds several US patents and is named on more than a dozen research reports. He served six (6) years on the Board of the Ohio Ballet as a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Marketing Committee. He is an avid competitive sailor and enjoys construction projects around his home. He currently is Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the US Green Building Coalition and a frequent speaker on sustainable building construction and economics.

In 1995, Tom was elected President of the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP and served in 1996 as Chair of the Commercial Council at CABOR. In 1997 and 1998, he was elected President of GCREO, the board charged with coordinating the activities of Cleveland’s real estate societies and boards. He was a member of CABOR’s Grievance Committee and served on the prestigious Society of Industrial Realtors (SIOR) Grievance and Professional Standards Committee in 1998 through 2003, and chaired the Professional Standards Committee in 1998. From 2003 through 2009 Tom was an active advisor to the Professional Standards Committee. In 1997 and 1998, he contributed significantly to the drafting and adoption of a new and more stringent code of ethics for the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

Tom graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. Tom then went on to receive his M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis in accounting and human factors.

Prior Experience

Tom started his career at Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY. After advancing through eight positions in seven (7) years, he became an Equity partner in Weston Products. Six (6) years later, he started West Industrial; a Chagrin Falls based designer and builder of special machines and robotic systems. Technical development led Tom to Network Video, assisting in the growth of an original group of retail stores and later becoming a major player in the flourishing vhs/beta video systems and movie rental business.
