About the Hanna Building

The Hanna Building was named after Marcus Alonzo Hanna, an American industrialist and prominent U.S. Senator from Ohio, and built by his son Daniel Rhodes Hanna. The building cost $5 million to construct, and was said to contain all the variety of businesses required to build a city and maintain it. Not only did the Hanna Building serve Cleveland’s budding theater and entertainment scene, it also functioned as an anchor of Cleveland business.
